So as usual I was browsing the net and run into an interview with Reggae Music jacker, Matisyahu and how he had the #3 Reggae album last year and how he’s equally popular to Sean Paul(Yeh right!) his fellow Sephardic Jew bredrin….

Sean Paul has been very open about his Jewish heritage for a long time. He went to a prep school funded by the Jewish community, he claims to be a direct descendant of Solomon, and he regularly makes trips to Israel where he is sometimes seen in traditional Jewish head gear.
Even some of his songs have similarities to traditional Jewish tunes. No secret!

I think that most people’s view of race comes from the brainwashing by America racists who decided to quantify whitenss(pureness) and blackness(contaminated). The came up with the terms quadroon, octoroon, quintroon and hexadecaroon. A person fell into one of those categories based on how recent they were mixed with a black decendant - whether parents, grandparents etc. The further back your black descendant, the more white you were. If you mix a chinese and a white peron, most people regard their offspring to be just plain old “mixed”. Add black to the equation and they are suddenly black. It doesn’t matter the other race(white, chinese, indian) as all of them are deemed to be purer that black and as such get contaminated when they mix.
Sean Paul has Jewish descendants from Portugal, Chinese descendants and black descendants. Maybe something else too. I bet if he didn’t have black, some people wouldn’t know what to call him. Leave him alone and let him express his heritage.

i think that sean paul shud jus be christian or whatever his momma’s religion is instead of being jewish. i mean he’s black why shud he distance himself from da other black rappers who are christian or muslim??
